Based in Martinez, Georgia, Lane 4 Track Club, founded in 2016 by Head Coach Michael McCovery, has established itself as a program dedicated to developing young athletes into championship competitors and future collegiate student-athletes.
While championship medals and national recognition are important, Coach McCovery measures success by something greater: helping young athletes develop from an early age, excel throughout middle and high school, and ultimately earn opportunities to compete at the collegiate level.
35 Athletes. 30 Colleges and Universities.
One of Coach McCovery's most significant accomplishments is helping 35 athletes earn opportunities at 30 different NCAA, NAIA, and JUCO colleges and universities.
These achievements represent years of dedicated coaching, individual athlete development, and mentorship. For many athletes, the journey begins at a tender age, long before college recruiting becomes a consideration.
Coach McCovery emphasizes proper fundamentals, identifying each athlete's strengths, establishing individual performance goals, and progressively developing their abilities through middle school and high school.
His philosophy is simple: Develop the athlete early, build the foundation correctly, and prepare them for success at every level.
Under Coach McCovery's leadership, athletes have achieved remarkable success at state and national competitions.

More Than a Coach — A Mentor and Leader
Coach McCovery's impact extends far beyond Lane 4 Track Club. Since 2023, he has served as an assistant track and field coach at Lakeside Middle School in Evans, Georgia, helping introduce young athletes to the fundamentals of the sport.
A USATF Level 3 Sprints and Hurdles Coach and USATF Certified Official, McCovery combines advanced technical knowledge with a passion for grassroots development.
He has also served as Meet Director for multiple AAU District and Regional Junior Olympic qualifiers in Georgia and as Secretary for USATF Georgia Youth.
His commitment to leadership, discipline, safety, and academic excellence ensures that athletes receive more than athletic instruction — they receive mentorship that prepares them for life.
Building Futures Beyond the Finish Line
What sets Lane 4 Track Club apart is its commitment to the entire athletic journey — from a child's first experience on the track to high school championships and collegiate opportunities.
For Coach McCovery, the greatest victory isn't necessarily crossing the finish line first. It's watching an athlete who entered the program as a young beginner develop into a confident competitor with an opportunity to pursue higher education.
With 35 athletes helped toward collegiate opportunities and an impressive record of state and national accomplishments, Lane 4 Track Club continues to demonstrate that investing in young athletes today can create life-changing opportunities tomorrow.
